Seattle, WA. Warthog Racing Academy riders and
other privateers get to eat "high on the hog" and welcome the Vintage Dirt
Racers Northwest Group as hospitality sponsors for the Seattle SX event at
Qwest Field.
In Seattle
this Saturday Warthog Racing riders, other privateers, friends, and families
will be supplied drinks, lunch, and dinner in the Warthog Racing pit thanks to
the generosity of a group of vintage motocross racers out of the Pacific Northwest vintage motocross scene. This
sponsorship was born out of Warthog Racing's Race Director Darrell Saldana's
friendship with Vintage Dirt Racing Northwest (VDRNW) that began at the Qwest
Field Supercross race in Seattle 2008.
"It's just
our way of helping out," says Stu Osborn VDRNW organizer. "Darrell proposed
their "Feed the Hogs Program", an opportunity to host our own party at the races
with our guests being the very riders we are there to watch. Everyone I talked
to jumped at the chance to contribute to the riders and hang out. I hope
everyone in Seattle will enjoy the vintage bikes we're bringing out to the
race."
VDR runs a
9-race winter motocross series at Woodland,
Washington where male and female racers of all ages and skills compete on
machines older than 1975 in Vintage classes, and ride 1975 and newer machines in
Trans-Am and Evolution motocross classes. The 5-race summer series is
called "Hammer & Tongs" and makes a late June stop in Washougal, Washington on June 20-21, on a toned-down track at the
same site where Warthog racers are slated to run in the AMA
Pro Motocross National series later this year.
"Stu and the
group (VDRNW) are the best... successful individuals outside our industry who
have a deep passion for the machine. They have some cool bikes and yes, they do
race them. I would like to thank them for getting involved, we really
appreciate it. Hogs love food!!", stated Darrell Saldana.
