BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki’s Adams Gets a Break, Makes a Break at Houston SX

by Theron 19. April 2010 15:51

Houston, TX- Things looked bleak for BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki’s Troy Adams with one lap to go in the 250 Last Chance Qualifier, he was in fourth and had no chance to make the top two and therefore, get into the main event on the night.

Then some sort of divine intervention happened and the riders in second and third crashed into each other and Adams got a gift in the form of the twentieth gate pick on the line for the 15-lap main. It was an amazing gift and one that Adams took full advantage of.

Once the gate dropped for the main, Troy showed that he deserved to be there as he rode hard to a well deserved and hard fought tenth place, even with a pretty hard crash along the way. This placing allowed Adams to stay inside the top ten in the 250 east series and be one of the top riders in the series.

Team youngster Kyle Keylon continued to pick up the pace with a some fast practice qualifying times and a 5th place in his heat race. Kyle was on his way to a top 10 finish, before falling with 5 laps to go and finishing off the main event in 13th.

Jason Thomas one of the longest running privateers in the series had one of his best nights of the series. He put his Suzuki in 10th place early on and moved to 9th where he stayed for half the race untill going down in one of the tough rhythm sections. JT remounted and charged back to 15th and upon taking the white flag, had found himself right on the tails of 12th, 13th & 14th. However, disaster stuck over the finish line double jump when JT's 450 suffered a mechanical, causing him to crash hard. The stocky little guy was ok from the crash, but none the less a little bruised up. JT$ ended up with an 18th place finish & remains inside the top twenty in the 450 series and looks to rebound this weekend in St Louis.

BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki’s Adams Races to a Sixth in Jacksonville

by Theron 12. April 2010 04:42

Jacksonville, Fla- Being back in his home state must have brought out the best for BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki’s Troy “Fatty McCheeseburger” Adams as he raced to a season high sixth place at round six of the 250 east series held this past weekend in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Homosassa, Florida native came around at the end of lap one in tenth and through a combination of hard work and speed, moved up to sixth by the end of the race. With the great result, Adams moved into the top ten in the series and looks to be poised for big things from here on out.

“Troy really did well” said team manager Forrest Butler “Y’know, he’s really too big for that bike but what people don’t realize is that, with the big body comes a big heart. And he certainly showed that today”

The team’s lone 450 rider, Jason “Privateer 4 life” Thomas again made the 20 man main event and raced hard to a sixteenth place finish after a couple of mistakes initially. This result allowed JT$ to move closer towards the top ten in that class.

BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki’s Thomas Charges to a Fifteenth in the ATL

by Theron 4. March 2010 07:31

Atlanta, GA- The BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki supercross race team came into round eight of the supercross series looking for redemption after a rough weekend in Indianapolis. Team riders Jason “Solar Radar” Thomas, Kyle “St Pete for life” Keylon, Troy “Monster” Adams and Lucas “George” Crespi are all native Floridians so they were feeling the love of the deep south.

And the man who might be the shortest rider on the stood tall on this night. Thomas qualified directly into the 450 main event and once there rode well on his way to a 15th place. Despite some bar-banging with another rider that cost him some time and positions, JT finished strong and is now in 16th in the series points standings.

Keylon did well in making his first 250 main of the year but some crashes held him back once he got there.  Last week’s tenth place finisher, Adams had a first lap crash in his heat race and a bad start in the LCQ that hurt his chances at making it. Crespi has some problems as well that prevented him from qualifying for the main.

“I’m pumped on our guys at the amount of effort they gave but I do wish we had some better results” said team manager Forrest Butler “We’ll do better next week or at least I hope we do or I’m going to start kicking ass and taking names.”

BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki Indianapolis Race Report

by Theron 1. March 2010 07:47
Indianapolis, Indiana- The AMA Supercross series headed east to the cold confines of the Lucas Oil Stadium for round seven of the 450 class and round one of the 250 class. It was the BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki season debuts of Kyle Keylon, Lucas Crespi and Troy Adams.

And of course, there is always the steady presence of 450 rider and team captain, Jason Thomas. JT has had a few problems in recent mains and in Indy, it continued. The bright light for JT$ is that he has shown that he can dominate LCQ’s with the best of them. We’re still working on the dominating of the main but hopefully one day.

Thomas finished 17th in the main and is 17th in the points chase as well.

As far as our 250 riders are concerned, first turn crashes did both Keylon and Crespi in and both riders failed to qualify for the main event. T-Roy showed everyone what kind of talent he has as, despite only riding for a few weeks, made the main and placed top ten. It was a great ride for Adams, all things considered.
